More snow photos in 2 parts (part 2)

This first photo was taken through the window and screen but I wanted to show how thick the snow was on top of the front porch roof.

More snow photos in 2 parts (part 1)

Here are some photos I took about 10 AM.

More of Char's Delight

The view of my deck from inside.

The farm

From the front door -- too cold and timid to venture out!

Char's Delight!

The tiny Tree by my front door is dressed for Christmas.

Is this called being snowed in?

I am glad that I do not need to go anywhere.

This is the latest photo from my front door taken a few minutes ago.

Cooking with Teagan...

We made meatloaf.

She was a bit afraid of cracking the egg - for fear that she would get shell in the dish. I showed her how and she did the second one herself!

She combined the ingredients but did not want to get her hands messy!

She seemed to be enjoying herself.

Then we made salad for dinner.

She really enjoyed using the salad spinner!

WITH PRECIOUS FRIENDS AT LONGWOOD

Spending time with very precious friends is always a joy!

Sharing a special place is also a joy!

If only we lived closer and could do this more often!!!!

The colorful tree!

Most of the fall foliage is gone but as I looked out from my deck, I noticed one tree which must be in a microclimate and the leaves have not yet fallen.

So, I took the above photo...

Then I walked up the road to take a couple more photos.

Reformation Day at school

The children's school celebrates Reformation Day which makes much more sense than Haloween. Here they are in front of the "Door with the 95 Theses."

Kyle thought he should stay in character, I guess that is why the grumpy face!

And there is Iain in his class!

On the way home today...

As I came to the intersection of Routes 1 and 202, three men were standing out along the side with homemade signs. Two are clearly visible. I do not believe that I have ever seen folks standing there before! I report - you decide!

Autumn Colors

I took Kyle, Rhia and Iain to school this morning and came home on a back road. There was no traffic so I had time to take a few photos with my iphone. Even though it was cloudy and overcast, I think that you can see how beautiful the colors are this time of year.

Frost on the mum ...

Here is a photo I took yesterday as I experimented with my new camera and caught frost on a mum plant for sale.

A thought about the photos on my blog ...

If you click on a photo, that photo will be enlarged. I am most pleased with the quality of photos from my new camera. I only upgraded a bit but I am pleased.

More autumn colors ...

It was a cold frosty morning - first real frost of the season ...

But the autumn colors were quite beautiful.

I was having a lot of fun playing with my new camera.

Someone said that there was a shortage of pumpkins this year but I saw plenty!

The blue sky was the perfect backdrop for the colored leaves.

There is something about a white steeple surrounded by the fall colored leaves ...

Trying my new camera - Part 2

With experimentation - some are good and some are not. I took over 50 photos and learned a great deal. When I use the telephoto lens, I MUST STEADY the camera against a still object!

This was taken from the deck...

then I went to the front yard to photograph a few of the trees in the front of the house.

I tried to get a close-up of the leaves... I am not at all happy with the results and will need to work on this.

Then I noticed the spectacular lighting on the woods and ran to the deck again to get a couple of shots.

Playing with my new camera part 1

I got a new camera last week and tonight I went outside after it stopped raining (which it has done all week) to try out the new camera and see what it could do.

The above photo is a close-up of purple basil in flower in the pot on my deck.

Then I tried to catch a bit of the setting sun through the trees.

As I looked across the fields, I saw the hay bales.

And ... trees with leaves turning...
