On the way home today...

As I came to the intersection of Routes 1 and 202, three men were standing out along the side with homemade signs. Two are clearly visible. I do not believe that I have ever seen folks standing there before! I report - you decide!

Autumn Colors

I took Kyle, Rhia and Iain to school this morning and came home on a back road. There was no traffic so I had time to take a few photos with my iphone. Even though it was cloudy and overcast, I think that you can see how beautiful the colors are this time of year.

Frost on the mum ...

Here is a photo I took yesterday as I experimented with my new camera and caught frost on a mum plant for sale.

A thought about the photos on my blog ...

If you click on a photo, that photo will be enlarged. I am most pleased with the quality of photos from my new camera. I only upgraded a bit but I am pleased.

More autumn colors ...

It was a cold frosty morning - first real frost of the season ...

But the autumn colors were quite beautiful.

I was having a lot of fun playing with my new camera.

Someone said that there was a shortage of pumpkins this year but I saw plenty!

The blue sky was the perfect backdrop for the colored leaves.

There is something about a white steeple surrounded by the fall colored leaves ...

Trying my new camera - Part 2

With experimentation - some are good and some are not. I took over 50 photos and learned a great deal. When I use the telephoto lens, I MUST STEADY the camera against a still object!

This was taken from the deck...

then I went to the front yard to photograph a few of the trees in the front of the house.

I tried to get a close-up of the leaves... I am not at all happy with the results and will need to work on this.

Then I noticed the spectacular lighting on the woods and ran to the deck again to get a couple of shots.

Playing with my new camera part 1

I got a new camera last week and tonight I went outside after it stopped raining (which it has done all week) to try out the new camera and see what it could do.

The above photo is a close-up of purple basil in flower in the pot on my deck.

Then I tried to catch a bit of the setting sun through the trees.

As I looked across the fields, I saw the hay bales.

And ... trees with leaves turning...

Shell, Part #2 - The BIG PUMPKIN at Glen Willow Orchards

The big pumpkin is always something to behold!

Can you imagine the size of pie that one would make?

They have a contest each year - " Guess the weight of the largest pumpkin at Glen Willow." You have an opportunity to guess each time you make a purchase and the winner wins a $20 certificate for produce at the orchard. Do you want to hazard a guess? I have never entered as I have no idea!

Shell, Part #1 - this is for you! Glen Willow Orchards

This is where we went ...

to get the gords...

all those years ago.

The exhibit this year was ...

quite amazing!

Tom, This one is for you! :-)

On route 10 traveling south from Honeybrook, I found this sign! Enjoy! ;-)

Then I went to the grocery store to get some milk...

I was told that they do not do this in the UK. When I was told that, I suddenly realized that of all the times I have traveled to the UK, it has never been between late September and mid-November! I will need to put that on my list! :-)

At the nursery...

I stopped by the nursery yesterday and they had their fall display up. I thought you might enjoy these photos.

Fall Colors @ Lamborntown

The early morning sun was shining through the autumn colored leaves this morning and it was so beautiful. Thank you, Lord, for the beauty of the earth! Thank You for Your great salvation!

Business turned into pretty scenes and a lovely dinner!

Today I had some business in Downingtown and so I took a drive north. I love this part of the county!

Then I returned home and made myself a lovely dinner after a really good swim. It has been a while since I have been in the pool as I had bronchitis for about 2 weeks. Now I am better and made it to the pool and then home for a lovely dinner. (I am practicing for the arrival of my special guests in November!) Well, I had founder on a bed of sauteed spinach. I put some lemon juice and salt and pepper on it and it was delicious. I might have a meal for my November guests - but then I thought - perhaps the one might not like spinach! Oh well! It was very tasty. Back to the cook books for more ideas! ;-)
