On Thursday of this week, I stopped in to talk to Greg who does my mowing and helps me take care of my grounds around my house. This big Tom turkey came to meet me and insisted on posing next to my car as I followed him around and tried to photograph him. Then I went inside to talk to Greg. The very shy turkey proceeded to try to follow me - the same turkey who would not let me get too close to photograph. When I was finished and came outside to get into my car, the turkey met me at the door and walked me to the car. I started the car and slowly began to turn the car around to drive out the drive and go onto route 82 - only to see the turkey following me and the faster I drove, the faster the turkey ran chasing the car and very upset that I was leaving him! I guess I have a new friend!

Bridges, Birds, Boyertown in Berks County
This morning I had a call from a friend from the UK who was visiting her sister in Berks County. Suddenly I was on my way for the hour and a half drive and a reunion with a dear friend in Boyertown. Her sister lives near Pleasantville Covered Bridge.
This is another view of Pleasantville Covered Bridge
Then we drove a short distance to Griesemenr's Mill Bridge on Spangsville Road.
While traveling from one bridge to the other we saw this pheasant in the field.
I did so enjoy spending time with Ruthie who is a member of Char's prayer group in the UK!

Happy Birthday to me!
Well, it has been a very good birthday! The highlight of my birthday was tonight about 6 PM when the phone rang. I was just ready to sit down to a bowl of soup so I was a bit irritated that my soup might get cold - but then I heard this delightful little voice saying Happy Birthday and the irritation vanished immediately! Then, Teagan, age 3 and nearly 4, sang Happy Birthday to me over the phone. It was PRECIOUS and a highlight of the day! After we talked briefly, the battery on their phone died and I hung up. My soup was still very warm and even more delicious as I ate it with memories of that dear little one singing to me in my head!

Lunch with a special friend from childhood!
For those of you who are following the blog, I am sorry that I have not had time to up date this for a while. I have had company and also been involved in some deep cleaning. Those who know me well, will know what that involves! For the rest, I leave it to your imagination! The company has left and it was finally time for a break from the cleaning projects so today I had lunch with a dear friend from second grade. (For those reading this in the UK, that means about age 8.) Yes, Carol and I have been good friends for many years but it has been many years since we had a long conversation with just the two of us and so today we went to lunch and tried to get caught up on the happenings in each other's lives. It was GREAT fun and I was so sorry that I had to leave a bit early. However, we plan to do it again soon. That is the latest!
