Yellow Raintree August 1, 2010

The last blog entry was a series of photos of the YELLOW RAINTREE in the circle in front of my home on June 29, 2010. I thought that you might like to see what happens to the blossoms in one month's time. Life has been busy since August 1 and I have not had time to post these images since I took them about a month ago. Now the pods are brown and not very pretty. But, August 1, they were bright yellow and quite beautiful.

The yellow black eyed Susan's have been blooming for the past month all around the house and at the entrance to the drive.

Yellow Raintree

Each year I have wanted to photograph the yellow raintree in the circle in front of my home. This year I was finally able to do it in full bloom.

Below you will see the yellow raintree to the far right, then the purple plum, which now has dark red/brown leaves, is closer to the house.

Sunrise on the farm

I was able to photograph the sun rise the other morning. It was SPECTACULAR!

Deer in the meadow

The other evening I spotted some deer in the meadow and tried very hard to photograph them.

Riding the DUCKS with KRIT June 8 - #3

We rode around the historic district in the amphibious vehicle for quite a while seeing Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, South Street and lots of other landmarks of the city and they we drove right out into the Delaware River. The expressions on the faces tells the story.

A very good and very exhausting time was had by all!

Riding the DUCKS with KRIT June 8 - #2

All members of our group were given duck quackers which we blew on when we were told to do so. These made sounds not unlike the sound a duck makes.

Riding the DUCKS with KRIT June 8 - #1

On Tuesday, June 8, KRIT and Katie and I all went into Philadelphia to Ride the DUCKS. You can imagine how excited we all were. We left about 9:30 AM right after breakfast. The trip took about an hour and 45 minutes and as soon as we got there, the younger members of our group were asking for snacks! I was glad that I was prepared with snacks and small bottles of water.

Our appointed time was 1 PM and it was not noon so we wandered around the visitor center. There was lots to see including gift shops, the Philly Phanatic and people dressed in colonial costumes.
