More botany therapy anyone?

It is still white outside so I decided to upload more of my photos from Longwood the other day.

Just BEAUTIFUL!

Do you see the purple topiary trees ...

...they are really orchid trees.

Oh, so lovely!

"He casteth forth His ice like morsels: who can stand before His cold?" Psalm 147:17

Today we are in the middle of a massive snow and ice storm. The winter berries are beautiful with the coating of ice ...

... as are the evergreens ....

... the tree branches ...

... the bushes by the front door...

... and the landscape is gray with fog.

Orchids at Longwood

Today I decided that I needed some botany therapy!

The Orchid Extravaganza is FANTASTIC!

The other flowers were lovely as well.

The colors so refreshing!

Then I went outside the conservatory to walk back to the parking lot!

Sunrise on a snowy morning...

When the sun rose this morning, the snow had stopped and my landscape was covered with snow.

The winter berries looked very different this morning.

The scenery was quite beautiful ...

"Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow?" Job 38:22

Last night when I went to bed, some snow flakes were slowing coming down. This morning, before dawn, I saw that it had been gently falling all night and so I went out to take a few photos. These are winter berries in winter!

These trees are for Shell! They are to the left of the drive as you turn in toward my home. I thought that the white birch with snow was so beautiful against the evergreens.

I then pointed the camera across the fields toward the farmhouse and barn.

What a difference a few hours can make! It is now 3 PM and the snow has been gently coming down all day! "He giveth snow like wool." Psalm 147:16

The trees in front of my home are simply BEAUTIFUL ... and there is a lovely quiet in the snow. I suppose that there is less traffic and fewer people working outside. The quiet is so nice!

"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." Psalm 57:7

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18

Hoar Frost Along the Motorway - Jan. 10

Geoff came and drove me and my luggage from Worcester back to London on Jan. 10. As we drove down the motorway that hoar frosty day, we both talked about the beauty of the frost. These photos were taken about noon!

Each scene was more beautiful than the previous one!

I tried to take photos through the windshield but Geoff's windshield washer was frozen and so it was not working. When Geoff took me to the airport the following Tuesday, all was working well.

Oliver & the Slinky!

Before I flew back to the US, I was able to spend a couple of hours with Oliver, his parents - Heather & Andy, his uncles and aunt - Graham, Jon & Jo and his grandparents - Cliff and Char. Oliver received a Slinky for Christmas and I had the delight of seeing him open it. I recall with great fondness my Slinky Christmas!
